About
Dr Huynh Trung Trieu was trained in Medicine in Vietnam at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (UMP). She is a specilist in infectious diseases and paediatric critical care. She has a Masters of Tropical Medicine from Nagasaki University, Japan and a DPhil from Oxford University, UK. During her PhD project she investigated the use of different fluid strategies in dengue shock syndrome management across seven hospitals in Asia and evaluated novel hemodynamic non-invasive monitoring techniques (ultrasound, bioimpedance, compensatory reserve index) for patients with severe dengue.
Her continuing research aims to improve outcomes of paediatric patients with severe dengue by trialing novel therapeutics and using point-of-care ultrasound for individualized fluid management.
