Supervisor of Training Essentials Workshop

CICM is committed to Best Practice in Education, Training and Assessment. Our SoTs perform the crucial role of guiding and supporting our Trainees and are committed to this fundamental role.

The College acknowledges the importance of, and expectations for, highly trained SoTs. To achieve the level of training necessary, sufficient time is required to be able to emphasise the crucial role that SoTs have.

SoTs are required to participate in the SoT Essentials workshop in the first 12 months of becoming an SoT. It is recommended that SoTs participate in a workshop every 5 years thereafter.
*Priority will be given to those who are newly appointed SoTs and those who participated >5 years ago. Events team will confirm with you if you have registered successfully.

Workshop Hours:
Day 1: 9am to 5:30pm
Day 2: 8:15am to 4pm

Funding Options for SoTs
The workshop itself is free for SoTs — the College takes care of the venue, catering and creating a comfortable space for learning and connecting.

For travel and accommodation, there are two simple options:

  1. Using Your CME Funds
If you’re able to use your CME fund for your transport and accommodation, it really helps the College keep offering great workshop spaces and opportunities for SoTs to come together - like shared dinners and social time. We truly appreciate those who can do this, as it supports the whole SoT community.
*If you are booking your own flights, please ensure your departure flight is at 7:00 PM or later.
It’s important that all attendees are present for the entire duration of the workshop.

  2. CICM funding
If your CME fund isn’t available, no problem at all. The College will organise and cover your transport and accommodation so you can still attend with ease.
*Once you’ve registered, a member of the Events Team will contact you to arrange your flights.
Please ensure your selected flight departs around 7:00 PM or later so that you don’t miss any part of the course.
Transfers will also be organised on your behalf.

Dinner: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
We’ll be hosting an Appreciation Dinner on the first night of the workshop to celebrate everyone’s contributions. The exact location will be confirmed in the reminder email closer to the date.

Please note that places for the dinner are pre-paid, so if you’re no longer able to attend, kindly let us know as soon as possible.

We look forward to sharing a wonderful evening with you!

Continuing Professional Development (CPD):
By attending SoT workshops you can claim up to 18 hours of CPD under the Category 1 – Educational Activities. This activity can also be attributed to the program level requirements of Professionalism and Ethics.
